23 guild members have already responded to our survey! And it’s not too late if you haven’t done it yet. We will continue to monitor the survey email for a while longer before making any decisions.
Of course, many members are still concerned that while Covid remains unchecked, things like meetings and bus rides are off the table. We understand and agree with that. But at least we have a little bit of the feedback that we normally got from pitching ideas at meetings, back in the day….
So far, here’s how it breaks down:
1. Shapiro basket workshop: 6 yes, 15 no, 2 maybe. This is encouraging, but not yet “doable.” Keep in mind, this is not until 2022 anyway, not this fall but next!!
2. Nov. 2021 warping demo: 11 yes, 8 no. (Probably won’t be meeting by then anyway, but we might slot in one of our earlier cancellations instead, if we are).
3. Sally Fox 20 yes! 2 no, 1 need more info on how much walking, etc. A rousing success! I admit we are a little premature on this, because Sally is sort of interested but will take some convincing!! We’ll try, though! And not schedule it until a bus ride is safe.
4. Center for Nonviolence instead of Aptos Park: 9 yes, 3 no, 9 no opinion or abstain. So nothing is really resolved on this yet. There are several factors the board will consider, like venue availability, cost, previous commitments, etc. This is turning out to be a complicated issue. More later!
Thanks to everyone who participated in the survey! Super helpful.
