March 10, 2025 SCTAG Board Meeting
Meeting was called to order at 4:06 pm
Present: LeAnn Bjelle, Patrice Keet, Susan Penney, Elizabeth Schilling, Bruce Fihe, Marsha Hein
Susan moved to approve the minutes from February, Patrice seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously.
Susan presented the treasurer’s report. LeAnn move to approve it, Patrice seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Library Report
Marsha presented library usage report. Usage over the past 10 months has increased from zero to a sustained rise. There have been 34 checkouts by 20 distinct users. There are 493 books in the library, primarily on weaving. Marsha proposed continued acceptance of donations to the library, the purchase of new and used books other than weaving books, and to have books out on display by the monthly speaker for perusal by the members. Marsha proposed the guild purchase a wish list of 19 books, which would cost approximately $600 plus shipping.
Susan moved for approval of $500 for book purchases for the next fiscal year, Alex seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Marsha will poll the interest groups for appropriate titles.
Marilou mentioned that the slides from 1983 need to be digitized.
Projector for CNCH conference
Joan Near needs one projector on loan to the CNCH conference. After discussion, it was decided that a guild member will be responsible for delivery and pick up of our projector. The projector will be labelled as ours and a responsibility agreement will be drawn up to replace or repair it in case of damage or loss. Patrice moved to approve, Alex seconded and it passed unanimously.
It was also decided to drop the service agreement on the projector as it does not cover damage.
Programs
Elizabeth has checked and a meeting at the fairgrounds in September is a definite no. We will meet on the 10th and have a regular meeting.
Programming for October and November is still open.
Use of Funds
Susan presented some ideas for the use of guild funds, which are currently over $20k.
The various ideas will be presented to guild members at the general meeting and a committee will be formed to implement the disbursement of funds.
Susan made a motion to set up a committee for the disbursement of $2000 for a project, Marilou seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
70th Anniversary Celebrations
Susan updated the board on the progress of the library displays. The Boulder Creek library will host a display in June and July, and the Felton Library will host one in October, and Live Oak Library in August.
Marilou gave an update on the poster for the library displays. The images will be taken from our new log. Roberta has the files. We don’t have a cost yet. The Felton library has requested an 8×10” size.
2025 Board
Janette Gross may be co-president with Jenifer Dyer, but it is not settled yet.
