November 13, 2024 General Meeting Notes
The meeting was called to order at 9:40 am.
Susan presented the Treasurer’s report and reminded the guild members that dues are overdue.
LeAnn introduced guests and new members.
LeAnn reminded the guild members that the CNCH award grant applications are open for the 2025 meeting.
Roberta presented the 9 proposed guild logos. The ballots were distributed and the guild members voted for their choices. The votes will be collated and the winning logo will be known by December.
Alex passed out the signup sheets for the 70th Anniversary celebration activities.
Elizabeth talked about programs. The MCSC Holiday Bazaar will be on December 7 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Alex will coordinate and Kris will be helping.
The guild Holiday Party will be on December 11, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. It will be a potluck. Admission is free for members, guests are $5.00. There will be games and prizes and a voluntary gift exchange.
Mary Quillan spoke about the Homeless Garden Project. There will be a wheat weaving demonstration on December 6th.
The Castro Adobe continues to want weavers.
LeAnn mentioned the Hand Weavers Guild of America Tea and Textiles every Tuesday and the possibility of the guild sponsoring one event, however, Lynn Chambers, who is a former attorney, stated the way the contract is written leaves the guild open to liability.
After the break, the Interest Groups presented their programs and showcased their work.
